“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me [a]to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are [b]oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”- Luke 4:18-19

-Brokenhearted (inner healing),

-proclaim liberty to the captives (bondage)

-recovery of sight to the blind (physical healing)

-set a liberty those who are oppressed (bruised/oppressed)

-proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Restoration)

Is it God’s will to heal?

Deuteronomy 20:4 For the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies to save you.”

Saved=Salvation=to save or to rescue

Psalm 103-1-3: Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

Is it God’s will for all to be saved? Yes but not all will be saved. Is it God’s will for all to be healed? Yes but not all will be healed.

Why Jesus heal?

Matthew 14:14And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

  1. The key reason for healing is “compassion”. We must be compassionate like Jesus towards the suffering and ministry healing to them.
  2. Jesus wants to heal because He was willing. Matthew 8:3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying “I AM willing.”.. Are you willing to believe in what God say?

Grace & Faith in healing

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.- Ephesians 2:8-10

If you think of healing, is it grace or is it faith? Many seminaries preached faith in healing. But grace is important. We need grace and faith in healing. It is not how good we are but it is by the grace of God. There are conditions to receive God’s grace. Faith is our response.

Romans 10:17 “ so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

So often we hear our own voices. It is time to hear the rhema word of God, the Holy Spirit. God who is compassionate and willing will do according to our response in faith. Hearing and seeing is often the one that cause problems.

7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven [a]is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, [b]cleanse the lepers, [c]raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.-Matthew 10:7-8

God has already instructed us what we do as believers. –Matthew 52:11

How many of you wants healing? Lets go through in steps:

  • Adopt a posture of Humility- James 4:6

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

  • Bless and thank God for the good and bad – Psalm 103:1-3

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases”

  • Confess our sins (James 5:16 and 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5)

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed.

  • Direct our focus on God and His promises (2 Corinthians 1:20)

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

  • Evict demonic influences – Matthew 12:43-45

When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

  • Forgive- Matthew 6:15

But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

  • Get rid of idolatry- 1 John 5:21

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen
